After breakfast, tour of Kathmandu Durbar Square
Explore the historic town of Kathmandu. The temples and monuments you see here are three or four centuries old. While walking through this area, you will have a feeling of traveling back in time.

Continue on to Swoyambhunath Stupa
One of the most popular and instantly recognizable symbols of Nepal is the Stupa of Swoyambhunath. Many tourists, because of the large tribes of monkeys that guard the hill, also refer to it as the “Monkey Temple”. Furthermore, 365 stone steps lead straight to one of the most sacred Buddhist sites, from where the painted eyes of Swoyambhunath seem to peer down into your soul. At the base of the stupa is a continuous series of prayer wheels, which the pilgrims spin as they circumambulate the stupa.
Afternoon, visit Patan Durbar Square
Patan is one of the sister cities of Kathmandu. Patan has a long Buddhist influence, and the Stupas mark the four corners of the city. An acclaimed Buddhist emperor around 250 BC is the creator of this magnificent Stupas.

1. Flights to Nepal
There are direct flights to Nepal from Kuala Lumpur, Delhi, Dubai, Doha, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Mumbai, Bangalore, China, Dhaka, Muscat, and Istanbul. Flights to Nepal are expensive as it does not lie on any major transit route, particularly during the peak tourist season (March through May) and from October to November.
2. Time
Nepal is 5 hours, 45 minutes ahead of GMT, and 15 minutes ahead of Indian Standard Time.
3. Visa
Nepal extends trouble-free visa issuance to all its citizens. Except for Indian tourists, all nationals will require a valid passport. The tourist visas can easily be obtained at the airport or any entry point upon arrival. They have to fill out the application form and submit it with a photograph.

The fees must be paid in cash (credit cards are not acceptable).
4. Money, currency regulations, and credit cards
Nepalese currency notes are available in denominations of 20, 50, 10, 500, and 1,000 rupees.
Indian notes worth $200, $500, $1,000, and $2,000 are banned in Nepal. All hotels, restaurants, and shopping centers will accept USD currency. However, please note that the USD currency should be new and should not have been tampered with in any way. Visa, Master Card, and American Express are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants, and shopping centers.
5. Holidays
Saturday is the weekly holiday. Most of the shops remain closed on Saturdays. Sunday is a normal working day in Nepal. Embassies remain closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and on public holidays.
6. Shopping
Shopping can also be very gratifying and exciting in Nepal (especially in Kathmandu and Pokhara). There are a number of tourist shops with tempting clothes, typical Nepalese crafts, beautiful pottery, and even gems and jewelry. Singing bowls are likewise a famous souvenir.
7. Tipping
Tipping is not mandatory; however, the guides and drivers who are involved in your tours do expect some tips. If you are very satisfied by the service provided by your guide and driver, you may tip them. The tipping information will be provided prior to the start of your trip.
8. Health Guide: Immunization and Vaccination
We recommend that the clients get themselves immunized against certain illnesses that are not prevalent in their home country, such as cholera, typhoid, malaria, meningitis, hepatitis, etc. Your physician would be best-suited to advise you on the best suggestions for these inoculations. Make sure the water you consume is boiled and filtered.
